I have always had a passion for clothes.... and shoes..... especially the latter. Actually it’s probably more of an obsession. Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Manolo, I could go on forever!
With this infatuation for fashion however, there come problems. Carrie Bradshaw might have been one of the most recognised fashionista’s of our time, but like many of us she had to suffer the trauma of inadequate closet space for her ever-expanding designer wardrobe. When Mr Big finally proposes to her, he finds the key to her heart is in fact an immense walk-in wardrobe – oh how right he was!
Like Carrie, I have in the past experienced issues with closet space, on top of a general lack of organisation when it comes to managing the logistics of my beloved wardrobe. I’ve always envied those women whose shoe boxes are neatly labelled with photographs and each item of clothing has its place within their wardrobe. To be honest, I simply don’t have the time!
That’s when my friends decided to introduce me to Vault Couture – an absolutely genius London-based wardrobe management and logistics service that has been something of a God-send ever since I became a client. They’re membership only, which is great as it makes the whole experience feel all the more exclusive and special.
The services Vault Couture offer are meticulously well thought out. I met with Managing Director Olesya Sanchez who talked me through everything the service had to offer. Together we devised a package which was entirely tailored to my wardrobe needs. Imagine the scene – at exactly 10am on a Monday morning a van pulled up into my driveway and two men in white lab coats got out (you can imagine what my neighbours must have been thinking – the men in white coats have finally arrived to take her away). These men were in fact part of the Vault Couture team (all their employees are dressed in white lab coats worn as a uniform to ensure hygiene around their clients precious garments) and had come to collect every single piece in my vast wardrobe (including my beloved shoes and costume jewellery) for cataloguing.
Off they drove with their valuable cargo, while I watched nervously from the window, wondering whether this was in fact a sensible idea trusting thousands of pounds worth of garments and accessories to this service. I needn’t have worried though. My wardrobe was taken to their state of the art vaults and subjected to something of a military operation in which each piece was first professionally photographed from all angles and catalogued onto my private online account.
I was then able to view my entire wardrobe using an iPad app. The biggest surprise was the realisation at just how many garments I owned and the joy at discovering pieces I had long since forgotten about – it was like getting a whole new wardrobe!
Vault Couture then offered to store garments which I didn’t wear on an everyday basis. They took pieces such as my evening gowns, fur coats, accessories and stored them in their temperature and humidity controlled vaults – ensuring these pieces are kept in pristine condition and will last for years. Vault Couture held my hand throughout the whole experience and worked so hard to gain my faith – now I feel I can trust them with any of my garments. They even repaired damages to some of my garments which I thought were irreparable – now that’s service!
I am a woman who is constantly travelling – New York one week, Paris the next – I never stop! Vault Couture ensure that my garments are delivered to any location globally at the drop of a hat. There’s nothing more satisfying than arriving at my hotel room to find my gown for that evening hanging in my room, pressed and ready to dazzle in! I also find the service incredible useful when it comes to locating my garments which are often left in my various homes abroad. On top of that, Vault Couture even works with top stylists who will put together looks for me for the season, using my online wardrobe. The time saved by waking up in the morning and having an outfit ready to wear is priceless.
I continue to be amazed at the level of service I receive on all levels from Vault Couture and would recommend it to any of my friends – be they fashion collectors, businesswomen or just the generally disorganised.
